IC Information;
Character Name; Chrysanthemum “Chrysi” Maymont
Age; 18
Appearance; Chrysi is short, extremely pretty in a dollish sort of way, and has long curly red hair and very bright green eyes. The icons I use were taken from the Rapunzel and Little Mermaid mangas illustrated by Sakura Shio.

House; Sigyn
Power; Healing
(Due to the fact that its a biological part of her, Chrysi will still be able to regenerate blood more quickly than a normal person, though notably not near-instantaneously like she would in her world.)

World Info; At first glance, Chrysi’s world looks much like our own; that is, not including the fact that the occult (essentially any sentient nonhuman, i.e. witches, werewolves, demons, vampires, selkies, faeries, trolls, etc.) coexist fairly peacefully with humanity. An accord was struck several centuries back, in which it was agreed that the vicious, rampant hunting from both sides would halt and ‘civility’ (the human equivalent, at least) would be upheld. Which meant that every creature capable would maintain at least a humanoid form in public, in return for certain concessions from humans, like territory and such.

Otherwise, the integration was quite effective, even if it did take decades. The occult live along side humans, and technology and magic go hand in hand. Many of the occult take up jobs in industries that were once wholly human; there are vampire actors and actresses, demon fashion designers, werewolf cops, troll architects, and many other instances. Similarly, some humans assist the occult with their less 'civilized' needs, in ways such as donating blood or even organs in the instance that they die unexpectedly. Their world, due to magical fuel alternatives like Arcthane (a cheap, powerful elixir), is also much less polluted.

Background; At the signing of the Accord, as it was known, the representative party for the occult was headed by the Elder Witch, Lilyth. She was the most powerful, the Original, the Immortal; her word was law, for the monsters of the world. However, she understood that she was placing a great burden upon the occult, and eventually established the Hotel. The Hotel became a sort of sanctuary, a place for the occult to cut loose from their assumed ‘civility’ and act as monstrously as they wanted; claws and fangs come out, pincers slide free, and illusive skin dissipates.

However, after several centuries of this, Lilyth grew bored. Despite her wishes, she knew that she couldn’t leave the Hotel to operate on its own, or in the hands of one even an iota less powerful than herself. Eventually, she came up with a suitable alternative: a homunculus. The homunculus, of course, was not an exact clone of herself; she had to take precautions so that it would not follow the same path as herself and leave the Hotel, or attempt to challenge Lilyth’s dominance. This issue was resolved through what, had it come to light, would have ranked by humanity as one of Lilyth’s Great Atrocities.

Lylith removed the homunculus’ ambition.

In it’s place, she left bonds of unswerving loyalty: to Lilyth, to the Hotel, and to the guests which drifted in and out. That ‘modification’ gave way to several more. The homunculus was, through the benefit of being designed with Lylith as its template, nigh immortal. Lylith made it realistically so, by using a portion of its magic to accelerate its inherent regenerative abilities. Its blood would never run dry; its eyes and liver and even its heart could be plucked free for the sake of a guest’s appetite, and the homunculus could be up and attending to the needs of others within an hour.

And so, Chrysi was ‘born.’

However, Lylith had miscalculated on several counts. She grew fonder and fonder of the little witchling who tottered after her and called her ‘Grandmamma,’ to the point where she expressly forbid all but the consumption of Chrysi’s blood to the guests. She also thought it impossible for what was essentially a copy of herself to gain a soul, but she underestimated her own magic. Chrysi was a fully sentient, unique creature; not the compliant doll Lilyth had expected in her initial design.

Otherwise, however, Lilyth was spot on; Chrysi, as she grew, became an integral part of the Hotel, and loved it with all her unexpectedly pure heart and soul. From interacting with guests, to cooking, to manual labor, she leapt to it with a happy smile. Though she never left the Hotel property, she was perfectly content. Her best friend and closest confidante became one of the frequent, VIP guests: Mercedes, or, as Chrysi calls her, Mercy, the leader of the universal super-coven of vampires.

Personality; The first thing that you really have to understand to get why Chrysi is the way she is, is that despite being raised around monsters at their most monstrous, she has led a fairly sheltered life. She has a strange sort of innocence; due to that and the way that Lilyth tied her to the Hotel. Chrysi would do anything to keep the guests happy, even kill, and she would do it without a stab of remorse. Conversely, should she ever have to use force on a guest or member of the occult to keep them from hurting other guests, it would tear her up inside for months on end. She knows very little of what life is like outside of the Hotel save the stories that Lilyth and the guests tell her.

Because of this, and again, the changes in her design made by Lilyth, Chrysi is very…cordial to normal humans. That’s not to say that she dislikes humans; if anything, Chrysi is inherently incapable of disliking anybody. Simply put, humans don’t matter to her in any significant way; the occult always come first. Otherwise, Chrysi is a gentle, upbeat girl, and one of those rare types that simply adore people—the occult, specifically, and the guests that come to stay unequivocally. It's her personal philosophy to make at least one person sincerely smile everyday. She helps people however and whenever she can; unfortunately, her kindness is sometimes abused, not more often than not a friend is able to guide her in the right direction. Chrysi isn't one to hold a grudge; if she happens to be the injured party she will forgive the offender as soon as she gets an apology. The only time she is notably sad or upset is when a guest leaves; it pains her to watch them go, but she can quickly recover with the promise of another visit or a new guest. She can’t stand feeling lonely or useless, and throws as much effort into her interactions with guest as she does her chores, lessons, or spells. Her favorite things to do around the Hotel, when she’s not attending to guests, are cooking and gardening.

She has an incredible amount of power at and beneath her fingertips, but only ever uses it for the sake of the Hotel or at Lilyth’s behest, following her design to a T. She frequently offers guests her blood, if they have the taste for it, and would gladly allow her organs to be harvested if Lilyth weren’t so opposed to it. Chrysi has a small, close-knit group of friends formed by the most frequent and high-class guests, and has learned most of what she knows of humanity through them. They painted a selfish, wasteful picture over the years, and she thinks that she’s better off where she is, instead of out in the world.

[The feed flicks on to show a teenage girl fiddling nervously with her red hair. Her shockingly green eyes slide shut as she flashes a smile that’s bright enough to blot out most of the nervousness in her eyes.]

Hello! My name is Chrysi Maymont. I’m one of the newest members of Sigyn house. I’m a witch…or I was at least, my powers seem to be tethered down pretty tightly here…but anyways!

[She shakes her head to get back on track.]

I’m not sure if any member of the Occult World here is familiar with the Hotel, but even if aren’t, please know that I will do all I can to make your stay here as enjoyable as possible. If there’s one thing I can’t let slide, it’s and unhappy guest!

[She giggles lightly, brushing back an errant curl.]

…I’m afraid I’m not too familiar with the hiring process in this world, since I’ve only ever worked at the Hotel, so if somebody would be so kind as to give me a short tutorial on that, I would be very grateful.

I hope we all get along well, thank you!

Chrysi hummed lightly as she drifted across the kitchen, flicking her wrist every so often to add an ingredient to the short parade of perishables bobbing along in the air behind her. Today was Mercy’s last day with them for this year, a lot that made Chrysi’s spirits sink for a moment. She hated having to say good-bye to her friend, even if they kept in contact via scryglass . Chrysi shook off the sense of despondency as quickly as it had settled, going back to the refrigerator. There was no time for moping; all she could do was make sure that Mercy left happily.

That was why she was making the vampire’s favorite indulgence for dessert. She frowned when she saw that the jug of virgins’ blood was running low. Tsking slightly at the fact that the chefs had let their supply become so depleted, she pulled out the container and picked through a block for a suitably sharp blade. As an after thought, she waved her hand and the other ingredients settled on the countertop. Best not to take chances; her blood could magnify her magic to dangerous extents.

As she dug the knife into her vein at an angle that would allow a steady flow without her regenerative abilities getting in the way, she idly ran through the night’s wine list in her head. It all had to be perfect, tonight, even more perfect than usual. She would absolutely hate it if anything were to make Mercy think twice about coming back to stay, after all.
